Daelia Hall has a problem.

Her academic advisor won’t get off her back about coming back to school. Her dad is pushing her to leave her doctoral program behind and work for him. The new pilot up at the 121st Interdiction Squadron, Argo, just damn near crashed her favorite AI-enabled airplane, one of the fabled emergent abiota.
And oh yeah, a massive meteor, that may or may not be an alien landing craft, just blasted a crater into a nearby park, and the Air Guard wants to know what the hell is going on. Because this thing seems to be driving every military abiota on at the base absolutely insane. On air show weekend, nonetheless.
But the object is carrying something, something that claims to be an envoy, the cybernetic vanguard of powers beyond the solar system. Powers that are coming for Earth, with the promise of great and terrible change.
